European Chamber spoke at the Beijing Green Silk Road and Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Technology's Innovation Cooperation Exchange Conference (2023)

On 29th May 2023, Zhonghua Xu, National Chair of the Energy Working Group, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the strategy and trend of energy transition and low carbon innovation at the Beijing Green Silk Road and Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Technology's Innovation Cooperation Exchange Conference (2023), jointly held by Beijing Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Centre (BEEC), Beijing Green Silk Road Innovation Service Base, the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC), and Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST).

Experts and scholars of the conference made keynote speeches on the innovations and the future development trends of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality at home and abroad. Domestic and international institutions and leading enterprises introduced their actions to pursue dual carbon goals, and shared advanced technologies and applications cases in digital energy, smart photovoltaics (PV), ground source heat pumps, molten salt energy storage, carbon dioxide (CO2) electrolysis, and zero-carbon buildings and parks.

Zhonghua Xu pointed out that the dual carbon goals are both ambitious and challenging, with energy security and low and zero-carbon technology (LZC) at the core. Therefore, we need to actively conduct domestic and international cooperation and promote innovations in energy and low carbon fields.
