Input the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) for the Intergovernmental Negotiation for the Plastics Convention in May 2023

On 20th March, the Environment Working Group submitted Input for the Intergovernmental Negotiation for the Plastics Convention in May 2023 to by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF).

Member Companies of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China's Environment Working Group welcome the call by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) for relevant industry input to the intergovernmental negotiations for the Plastics Convention in May 2023. China has a huge capacity for physical recycling and processing of waste plastics, and it holds a huge potential for resourceful use of the waste plastics. In order to promote the development of the plastics recycling industry, the Environment Working Group of the European Chamber would like to submit suggestions regarding collection and use of virgin plastics, plastics recycling technologies, plastics treatment priorities, usage of recycled plastics without downgrading, and international cooperation.
