European Chamber Met Deputy Director-general of Department of European and Asian Affairs of CPAFFC

On 26th July, Hao Zhongwei, deputy director-general of the Department of European and Asian Affairs of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), received the European Chamber delegation in the CPAFFC office in Beijing.

DDG Hao welcomed the Chamber delegation and was pleased that the two sides are connected for the first time. DDG Hao introduced the history of the association and that it has been its long-term mission to promote friendly exchange between China and foreign countries. 

Ms Ziting Zhang, head of government affairs of the European Chamber, thanked for DDG Hao's reception and introduced European Chamber's history, mission and recent work. Ms Zhang stressed that there are many areas of common interest for the European Union (EU) and China to work on, for instance, carbon neutrality and innovation research.

The two sides agreed that it is important to strengthen the EU-China ties by means of cultural, economic and trade activities, particularly in the difficult time of the COVID-19, and will work together to explore common grounds for future cooperation. Both sides also agreed to arrange a meeting for the two heads for in-depth exchange in the near future.
