Bettina Schoen, Vice President of the European Chamber, Spoke at the 9th World China Studies Forum on Travel Restrictions and Impact on European Business

Vice President Schoen spoke on the situation of European companies in China, and how persisting travel restirctions hinder their further development and ultimately are detrimental to the efforts to a faster world economic recovery.

Vice President Schoen also presented the findings from the European Chamber 2021 Business Confidence Survey and 2021/2 Position Paper. During the Q&A session, Vice President Schoen answered questions on best ways to open border and faciliate international travel, and emphasised the importance of connectivity to China and the world's economic recovery.

Vice President Schoen is joined by Mr Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Pfficer of China Centre for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), Mr Wang Yiming, Vice Chairman of CCIEE and former Vice Minister of the Development Research Centre of the State Council, Ms Chen Wenling, Chief Economist and Vice Director of CCIEE, Mr Xu Chaoyou, Head of International Cooperation at CCIEE, Mr Zhang Yansheng, Chief Researcher at CCIEE, as well as other distinguished speakers from IMF, US Chamber of Commerce, Korea Institute for International Econoimc Policy, Renmin University of China, Bruegel, and AmCham China.
