South China Chair Meets Deputy Director General of the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office

On 22 July, European Chamber South China Chapter Chair, Klaus Zenkel, met with Deputy Director General Liu Chenzi of the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office to discuss the 2021 Business Confidence Survey. Working in tandem with Vice Chair, Fabian Blake, Klaus explained the content of the BCS to the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office and emphasised that the confidence in the business environment in South China was overall strong. Deputy Director General Liu acknowledged the key role the EUCCC plays in South China and the importance of facilitating good communication between the European Chamber, its members and the local governments. To this, Guangdong is dedicated to being the most international, open and market-based area in China she reaffirmed. The meeting concluded with the Office's commitment to better understand what European businesses want and need. Klaus Zenkel gave a copy of the 2021 Business Confidence Survey at the end of the meeting.
