Submitted comments to NDRC on Stimulating Waste Incineration Power Generation Project

On 10th April, the European Chamber's Energy and Environment working groups submitted comments to the National Development and Reform Commission on Stimulating Waste Incineration Power Generation Project (Draft for Commments).
The working group suggested that incineration be planned to reflect the downturn in input due to municipal waste source segregation, rather than continuing to increase the number of waste generation projects. More attention should be given to pre-sorting waste, e.g. plastic waste should be separated so it can be used for chemical recycling instead of incineration.
