A & A WG: Roundtable meeting with EU Delegation

On 11th March, Counsellor of DG MOVE of EU Delegation Mr. Niall Leonard,  and EASA representative Dr Javier VICEDO, and Aviation & Aerospace Working Group (WG) members held a meeting in the EU Delegation office to assess the impact of the current global crisis on the aviation industry and the potential responses from the authorities compared to those by the industry. WG members described their internal  measures and the difficulties they are facing from the COVID 19 outbreak. Members said they expect the EU and Chinese authorities to coordinate and find an effective solution to mitigate the huge losses of the aviation industry. They hope the Chinese administrations can increase financial aid and provide guarantees on slot allocation during and after the crisis. The EU Delegation said it will coordinate the European and Chinese authorities for taking the appreciate measures to release the burdens and barriers for the aviation companies.

 

Niall Leonard, counsellor, DG MOVE of EU Delegation, Javier Vicedo, representative of EASA, Motiz Lumma, minister counsellor of the Embassy of Germany, Dominique Grass, counsellor, Civil Aviation and Aeronautic Service, and European Chamber members from Airbus, AF+KLM, Lufthansa Airlines, British Airways and Iberia Airlines of Spain and Finnair attended the meeting.
