Meeting on EU-China Research and Innovation Cooperation under HORIZON EUROPE and beyond

On 20th September, European Union (EU) Delegation officials visited the European Chamber’s Shanghai office and met with Research and Development (R&D) Working Group members. Topics discussed included future European-China research and innovation cooperation under Horizon Europe, and the upcoming EU Research Infrastructure (RI) Framework Programme.
This meeting took place in the context of the joint EU-China roadmap for research and innovation cooperation, which is to be prepared at the end of 2019. The discussion mainly covered two aspects: future priority areas for cooperation and the framework conditions. Ms. Tiantian Qi, business manager of the R&D Working Group, and several of its members presented their views and the issues arising from the future thematic priorities, cooperation conditions and budget challenges, aiming to further deepen EU-China research and innovation cooperation.
