Dialogue with Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government on Healthcare Sector Development

On 28th August, the European Chamber’s Shanghai Chapter held its third Shanghai Government Dialogue. The meeting was chaired by Madam Shang Yuying, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. 14 representatives from various municipal government departments participated in the discussion. The European Chamber’s delegation was led by Carlo D'Andrea, Vice President of the European Chamber and Chairman of the Shanghai Board. In attendance were major foreign companies representing the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device sectors, as well as medical institutions. Together, they presented their recommendations to government officials on how to improve the business environment in Shanghai. Madam Shang invited the companies to provide feedback about their challenges on the ground and to share their experiences with Shanghai’s healthcare pilot programs. Both sides agreed to follow up on the action points discussed at the meeting.
