Meeting with Deputy Director General Pu Ronggao, Jiangsu Department of Ecology and Environment

On 30th May, Bernhard Weber, chair of the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter, and the Chapter’s board members met with Pu Ronggao, deputy director general (DDG) of the Jiangsu Department of Ecology and Environment.
Mr Weber gave a brief introduction to the Chamber and the work it has undertaken recently. DDG Pu welcomed his European Chamber guests and shared his insights on the impact of recent environmental regulations and inspections on European business. He pointed that European business has been the model in terms of environmental protection and corporate social responsibility, and the inspection department will work on finding a more efficient way when implementing new regulation. The two sides agreed that a long-term dialogue channel should be established.
The Nanjing Chapter also presented DDG Pu with the European Business in China Position Paper 2018/2019 and the newly released Business Confidence Survey 2019.
