Chamber Presents Business Confidence Survey Findings to Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce

On 23rd July, Shang Yuying, director general of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, visited the European Chamber's Shanghai Chapter and met with Carlo D'Andrea, chairman of the Shanghai Chapter Board and vice president of the European Chamber, to discuss the state of the local business environment.
Mr D'Andrea shared key findings from the European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2018 (Business Confidence Survey 2018) and highlighted a few issues that local European business are concerned about, including regulatory complications, market access barriers and forced technology transfers. The Chamber acknowledged that the Shanghai Municipal Government has made an effort in improving the local business environment, European business urged the local authorities to take further action. At the end of the presentation Ms Shang discussed the China International Import Expo organisation and appointed one colleague to be a point of contact for Chamber members.
