Dinner Meeting with Director General Jerzy Plewa of DG AGRI on Recent Regulatory Developments of F&B Sector in China

During this meeting, Mr. Jerzy Plewa, Director General of DG AGRI, and representatives of the Chamber's AFB Working Group exchanged the views on the recent regulatory developments in food and beverage sector in China including the postpone of implementing AQSIQ's health certificate of food exported to China, the removal of cheese importation ban, the extended grace period for cross-border e-commerce, and the likely impact of the draft Implementation Rules of the Food Safety Law on food industry practitioners. DG Plewa appreciated the Chamber and AFB Working Group's support to and input on all these issues. He also updated the Chamber representatives the ongoing EU-China GI negotiation, the soon-to-be-launched EU agriculture policy paper, and Commissioner of DG AGRI's visit to China in spring 2018.
