Meeting with EU Commissioner for Energy and Climate Change, Mr Arias Canete

2017-03-29 | Beijing

EU Commissioner for Energy and Climate Change, Mr Arias Canete, visited China at the end of March 2017 in an attempt to strenghten climate and clean energy ties between the EU and China. In this context, the President, Vice President and members of the Energy Working Group of the European Chamber had the chance to meet the Commissioner in order to identify and tackle the major challenges the energy sector is facing in China. After a brief introduction about the study on Made in China 2025 the European Chamber recently published, the representatives illustrated the major issues European companies are now facing in all the relevant sectors, i.e. renewables (particularly wind), gas, access to the grid, SOEs reform, lack of reciprocity and of a level playing field in terms of equal opportunities for investments.
