JW provided an overview of the key messages of the position paper.
By touching upon the lack of openness regarding foreign investments in China and lack of reciprocity, JW hinted the study of Made in China 2025 the European Chamber will publish in March and the messages contained therein. He also stressed the importance of the rising of anti-China investment sentiment.
Ms. Lobillo announced a potential imminent visit to China of Commissioner Canete. In this context, the Commission is looking forward to establish a closer cooperation with China in the field of investments related to climate change, particularly the ETS following to the Paris Agreement. Other areas of cooperation are transport and low emissions vehicles and the international dimension of the energy cooperation.
The delegates provided feedback about the 13th Five Years Plan and the implementation measures set up by the Chinese government.
BdlN stressed the importance of enhancing the presence of the EU in international fora organized by the Chinese government.
