Meeting with Chief Negotiator of Environmental Goods Agreement (EGA)

, Chief negotiator of EGA made an introduction of the agreement, the status of the negotiaitions and welcomed the fact that China and the EU are now on the same page on various issues and rounds are proceeding quite well. She was very interested in hearing the point of view of the industy on EGA and stressed the importance of this agreement for companies and the need to make it known to the business community.

In this respect, the European Commission would like to organize an event in the next upcoming months, possibly September 2016, in order to bring together European and Chinese stakeholders and highlight the benefits of EGA in all economic sectors. The objective is to organize a broader and comprehensive event, not limited only to green goods, that would include also certain economically related subjects such as standardization.
