Meeting with Vice Mayor of Yiwu City on Future Cooperation

In the meeting, Mr. Xiong Tao, Vice Mayor of Yiwu City introduced the geographic, demographic and economic facts of the city and the newly run rail route connecting Yiwu and Madrid, known as Yixin'ou Railroad. He specifically mentioned the large trade imbalance in Yiwu as 99% of the trade volume comes from export and only 1% from import. He proposed future cooperation with the European Chamber on promoting expansion of import to Yiwu. Dr. Kraft expressed gratitude to the Yiwu delegation for sharing the information with the European Chamber and also introduced facts of the Chamber. Both sides agreed to further cooperate in event organization on potential topics including the China-EU freight rail.
