Job description
Support the project leader in:
- the identification of the needs of the project for horizontal services;
- the identification of priorities in line with the EC Delegation and the national counterparts;
- the elaboration of project and annual workplans and forecast budgets;
- monitoring resources and activities and preparing periodic reports;
- the establishment and maintenance of functional working relations with appropriate national agencies and ministries in the counterpart countries;
- the representation of the action toward all relevant stakeholders on site, including international and bilateral donor agencies, private sector actors, academia, etc.
For the activities in the area(s) of competence:
- liaise with national counterparts to define the structure and schedule;
- elaborate the draft budget, workplan and terms of reference;
- identify appropriate resources in collaboration with the team in Alicante and the responsible EC Delegation;
- draft the terms of reference for external experts and services providers, oversee the logistics and organisation of all aspects of the activities;
- provide necessary information to all staff involved both on-site and in Alicante to ensure that planning and financial procedures are respected;
- evaluate the satisfaction of participants, finalize activity reports.
Skills & experience
Qualifications and skills
· University degree in law, political science, economics or equivalent
· 4 years or more of post-secondary studies or equivalent
· Proficiency in written and spoken English
· Mandarin Chinese will be an asset
General professional experience
· More than 4 years of professional experience in relation to the organization of activities and/ or events
· 2 years of experience in IP in the EU
· 3 years of professional experience acquired in China or South East Asia
· 4 years of experience in the implementation of international cooperation projects
· 2 years of experience in the implementation of EU-funded projects
· 4 years of experience in the implementation of international cooperation projects
· 2 years of experience in the implementation of EU-funded projects
Specific professional experience
· 2 years of experience in supporting international trade negotiations
· 4 years of experience in IPR acquired in the private, academic or public sector
· 2 years of experience in trade negotiations and/or experience in IP is related to Europe-China relations (public or private sector) and/or gained in China.
· Acquainted with the IP environment in EU and China, particularly in relation to patents, copyrights, plant variety and GIs
· Acquainted with the main IP issues related to international trade negotiations between EU and China
