Job description
You will have to provide expert regulatory advice, compliance support as well as engage the authorities on Vodafone Business policy positions in China
• Support the further development of Vodafone Business activities and partnerships in China.
• Determine regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations in China. Take ownership for maintaining compliance of these.
• Stay current with the latest regulatory policies and practices of IT and communications regulatory bodies in China.
• Actively participate in different industry associations related to the communications sector and influence policy development in China.
• Develop local network and maintain constructive relationship with China regulatory bodies to enhance Vodafone Business intelligence about China regulatory framework and practices.
• Work closely with the other Vodafone Business regulatory team members in the US and EU and with Vodafone Group External Affairs. Apply defined way of working and compliance documentation. Use Vodafone Business virtual communication tools and engage with commercial, product and technology teams across the world.
Key accountabilities
• Own regulatory support and advice to Vodafone products, partnerships and customer solutions in China (functional support).
• Actively participate in and feedback on industry meetings. Advocate Vodafone Business policy positions.
• Create and manage relationship with regulatory bodies in China.
• Own and seek approvals and decisions from regulatory bodies when required.
• Monitor and update on all relevant compliance and policy changes in China.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with IT or telecoms law or practice, ideally including the legal framework on Cyber Security and other security law.
• Experience with working in a ministry or other government-affiliated body in China.
• Interest to put attention to detail, where required, with a mind-set for compliance and the wider risk framework.
• Organisational skills: Proven excellent organizational and forward planning skills. Ability to prioritize workload and manage deadlines.
Skills & experience
• Law Degree, Economics Degree or suitable analytical degree (or equivalent) accompanied by relevant experience.
• Experience with analysing and advising on communications laws and regulations.
• Experience with the legal framework on Cyber Security and other security law (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English. Ability to translate complex legal/regulatory requirements into clear business messages.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with IT or telecoms law or practice, ideally including the legal framework on Cyber Security and other security law.
• Experience with working in a ministry or other government-affiliated body in China.
