The European Chamber Nanjing Chapter Annual General Meeting and Nanjing Local Position Paper Launch will be organized in the afternoon of April 27 2023.
During the annual meeting,
- The Chairman of Nanjing Chapter will report the work of 2023 and the prospects for next year’s economic situation and work arrangements.
- The Chamber will launch its 3rd edition of Nanjing Local Position Paper.
- Social cocktail party
The Board Election will be held during the event. Only staff and members of the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter may attend the election process. Non-members and friends are welcome to join the Nanjing Position Paper 2023/2024 Launch and cocktail party from 16:45.
This event will be a chance for all the members to provide feedback regarding operations of the European Chamber Nanjing. Every vote will be very important for a further development of our Nanjing Chapter.

Board Election:
The Nanjing Chapter Annual General Meeting and Board Election, where the Chair of the Nanjing Board (1), Vice Chair (1), and Nanjing Board positions (3) are elected, will take place on 27th of April, 2023.

Who can vote?
You can vote in the election if you:
1.a Are a designated representative (the main contact between the European Chamber and your company), or
1.b Are an individual member
and
2. Paid the membership fee for 2023 (please make sure that the Chamber has received and confirmed your membership payment by no later than 30th of March, 2023.)
How can I vote?
You are welcome to cast your vote either in person or by designating a proxy to vote on your behalf.
1)You can vote in person by secret ballot at the election venue. Please note that even if you have voting rights confirmed by the Secretariat of the Chamber, you must have registered for the Board Election by 12:00 on Wednesday 26th April in order to exercise this vote.
2) Assign a proxy to vote on your behalf by 24th of April, 2023 noon. Please fill in the Proxy Form and send a scanned copy to Haiyan You at hyyou@europeanchamber.com.cn or in person at the Chamber office in Nanjing (Room 951, World Trade Center, No.2 Hanzhong Road Nanjing).
The proxy must be a colleague from your own legal entity and must be present to vote. This requirement has only one exception for the Individual member, who may give his/her proxy to another individual member/corporate member in Nanjing Chapter.
Proxies received after the deadline and in a format different from those listed above will not be accepted.
How can I run for election?
The nomination period is open from now until 20th of April, 2023, 2 pm.
If you would like to run for the Nanjing Board Chair, Vice Chair, or Board member, you need to:
1) Be nominated by two designated representatives of other members eligible to vote (please refer to the above sections “Who can vote?” and “Who can run for elections?”).
2) Fill in and sign the Nomination Form. The nomination form must also be signed by both the proposer and the seconder, who must be members of the sectoral working groups in good standing (with paid dues).
3) Send the nomination form scanned by e-mail to Haiyan You at (hyyou@europeanchamber.com.cn) or in person at the Chamber office in Nanjing by 20th of April, 2023, 2 pm.
4) Provide a short bio and letter of motivation scanned by e-mail to Haiyan You at (hyyou@europeanchamber.com.cn) or in person at the Chamber office in Nanjing by 20th of April, 2023, 2 pm.

Effective from 1st February 2023 through to 1st July 2023, the National and Local Election Commissions, appointed by the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the European Chamber in line with Article 1.1.2 of the By-laws, will formally assume their duties to support this year’s elections.
The Election Commissions at both national and liaison office levels have been created with the mission to: 1) promote a strong and diversified European Union business identity at the Board level (ExCo and liaison office boards); 2) improve consistency, transparency and efficiency of the Chamber’s ExCo and liaison office boards election processes; and 3) reinforce the competencies of Boards (ExCo and liaison office boards) aligned with the Chamber’s original core mission.
