In 2019, a significant overhaul of the individual income tax (“IIT”) system has been introduced with a number of changes like IIT calculation method, redefinition of tax resident and non-resident, introduction of additional itemized deductions, transition period for certain preferential policy, etc. for individuals of Chinese or foreign nationality.

The second part of the WG meeting would be to discuss the draft VAT law and draft Consumption Tax Law.
