Located in the Yangtze River Delta on China’s eastern coastal area, Jiangsu is one of the regions in China with the most rapid economic growth and the highest level of openness and dynamics. Since 2008, Jiangsu has successfully organized five sessions of CITTC and the conference has become a branding event of international innovation, cooperation and exchange with the largest scale and broadest influence in China. European Chamber released this year’s Business Confidence Survey in June, which highlights an emerging contradiction: China’s increasingly sophisticated economy stands in stark contrast to its highly burdensome regulatory environment. In July, European Chamber published a new major report analysing the progress and shortcomings of China’s reform agenda since President Xi Jinping spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos in early 2017. Both of the reports serve important roles to help European business owners to understand the latest policies regarding the further opening and reform, as well as the stance of European business on those policies.
