The fifth episode of the Interpreting the EU's Toolbox series will focus on EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), which was given a green light by both the European Parliament and the Council of the EU in April and May 2024 respectively. On Thursday 20th June at 15:30, Zsofia Kerecsen, a representative from DG JUST at the European Commission will provide an online overview of the CSDDD, which will be followed by a presentation by Herbert Smith Freehills Partner Antony Crockett on how to approach compliance with this regulation in China.

This expanding toolbox includes instruments aiming at combatting economic distortions and creating a level-playing field in the Single Market, ensuring reciprocity with third countries in areas like procurement and combatting coercive actions initiated by those countries, fostering sustainable processes and preventing carbon leakage among industry players. As number of these regulations will impact the China operations of European companies, the European Chamber brings to you the Interpreting the EU’s Toolbox Series, where experts will provide an overview of the instruments that are being rolled out. The fourth episode of the series will focus on the Anti-Coercion Instrument (ACI), and it will take place on 5th March 16:00 online.
