Within the growing renewable energy market, production is increasingly moving offshore, both in a move to capture better and more abundant energy resources as well as for social and logistical reasons. Demand for new-build and converted FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessels and FLNG (Floating Liquid Natural Gas) facilities have increased due to the declining rate of new onshore oil discoveries to historic low levels and also from technology that enables efficient deepwater oil exploration in unprecedented ocean depths.
