As the world begins to reflect on their COVID-19 experience, the changes it caused in society, and how governments, companies and communities have had to adapt, we also begin to focus on strategizing a way forward. This path forward is especially important for Multinational Companies (MNC’s) who have started to feel the ripple effects of a global growth slowdown in their demand, confidence and supply chain. Companies will need to revamp their business plans, expectations, and plan of action to increase their resilience long-term.

As the largest market in Asia for the EU and the UK, China is equally important to both. But even before the Brexit vote had taken place, the UK appeared keen to form a relationship with China that would be distinct from the EU’s. The COVID-19 outbreak in late January took most companies by surprise, and the associated disruptions in supply chains, demand, and general operations had a considerably negative impact on businesses, especially SMEs.
