Course objectives:
This training is a practical workshop where you will apply a fraud risk map to your own company. In the process you will gain an understanding of the most common corporate fraud scenarios occurring within your industry in China. In the second part of the training you will use a decision matrix to decide on the best prevention approach. These tools include internal control frameworks. You will also gain some hands-on experience in the use of world-leading data analysis tools, ACL and Tableau. In the training we will create management dashboards that you can take home with you, in order to implement fraud risk indicators within your company.

The aim of this training is to give you the practical tools that will help you to increase the level of transparency within your company, therefore improving internal controls and ensuring compliance with China’s Anti-Corruption Laws, the FCPA and the UKBA.

Course outline:
1.    Apply the ACFE Fraud Tree risk matrix to your company:
a.    Legal context in China: China’s anti-corruption laws, the PRC criminal law relating to commercial and official bribery and the PRC company law. Comparisons with FCPA and the UKBA
b.    Typology of fraud risks: background theory concerning fraud, including the ACFE fraud tree and the fraud triangle. The most common fraud scenarios for each branch of the fraud tree including Corruption, Asset Misappropriation and Financial Statement fraud.

2.    Learn how to use practical tools to increase transparency within your company
a.    Implementation of a GRC strategy within the context of your company. Overview of the COSO cube and the three lines of defense, including the roles of operational managers, internal controllers and internal auditors.
b.    Use of world-leading technology, including data analysis tools ACL and TABLEAU will be introduced and discussed as a way of ensuring that controls are efficient and exhaustive.

You will obtain a trial version of ACL and TABLEAU tools that you will be able to use during one month following the training.
