Meeting with China Council of the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) on Issues faced by French-owned Enterprises in China

A delegation from China Council of the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) visited the European Chamber and met with several French-owned member companies at Chamber office. As introduced by CCPIT, 2018 China-France High Level Economic and Financial Dialogue was to take place in France in early December. Vice Premier Hu Chunhua was going to Paris to attend the event. Before his visit, CCPIT was assigned to collect concerns and suggestions from French-owned enterprises in China, which was the purpose of this meeting.

On 19th September, the European Chamber led a delegation of 13 representatives to attend the International Forum on Ultra-low Energy Buildings in Xiongan New Area 2018. The forum was hosted by the Xiongan New Area Administrative Committee, Baoding Municipal Government, Hebei Provincial Department of Environmental Protection, Hebei Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-rural Development and the Architectural Society of China.

2018 EU-China Industry Workshop on New Type of Urbanisation

On 11th September, around 120 policy makers, national authorities, industries, city governments, academics, civil societies and other stakeholders from China and Europe attended the EU-China Industry Workshop on New Types of Urbanisation 2018. The workshop was organised by the European Chamber and China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD). Funded by the European Commission under HORIZON 2020, the workshop was part of the EU-China Innovation Platform on Sustainable Urbanisation (URBAN-EU-CHINA).

Comments to the MEE's Draft Amendment to the Solid Waste Pollution Prevention Law

The European Union Chamber of Commerce welcomes the decision of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment to call for comments on the <Draft Amendment to the Solid Waste Pollution Prevention Law>. The European Chamber welcomes this Draft Amendment as a step to make solid waste pollution prevention in China more aligned with international practice. There are, however, some aspects that we would like to comment from this Draft Amendment.
