Roundtable with the Ministry of Commerce Department of Treaty and Law, Division of World Trade
On 31st May, the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter received a delegation from the Division of World Trade of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and held a roundtable discussing the challenges facing European companies in China in relation to the cross-border data transfer (CBDT).

On 28th May, a European Chamber delegation met with Gong Zheng, mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government. Chamber President Jens Eskelund and Chamber Vice President and Shanghai Chapter Chair Carlo D’Andrea led the chamber dialogue with Mayor Gong Zheng, who was joined by the secretary general of the Shanghai Government along with senior leaders from the municipality’s Financial Regulatory Bureau, the Commerce Commission, the Ecology and Environment Bureau, the Science and Technology Commission and the Economy and Information Technology Commission.

On May 23, 2024, the South China Chapter of the European Chamber of Commerce hosted a seminar focused on the extended preferential individual income tax policies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, effective until December 31, 2027. Organized in collaboration with the Finance Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality and the Human Resources and Social Security Administration of Shenzhen Municipality, the seminar aimed to guide high-end and urgently needed foreign talents on how to benefit from these policies.
