Meeting with Director General of Jiangsu Department of Emergency Management

On 18 April 2023, European Chamber Nanjing Chapter Chair Dr. Andreas Risch, Vice Chair Shan Jianhua, met the Director General of Jiangsu Department of Emergency Management, Jiang Feng.

Dr. Risch briefly introduced the Chamber and its members to Mr Jiang and shared members' concerns related EHS management and inspections by various authority levels. He highlighted Chamber's recommendation on how to establish a more standardized and professionalized inspection mechanism and expressed EUCCC Nanjing’s willingness to work closer with the department. Mr Jiang welcomed the delegation and shared Jiangsu's commitment in improving the current inspection mechanism by reducing inspection frequency to compliant plants and establishing a unified and professional inspection mechanism. Thereby he especially emphasized that European companies with advanced Safety and environment protection policies in place should benefit from less burden by frequent authority inspections
