Shenzhen Subsidies Suitable for Foreign Invested Enterprises.
How Foreign Invested Companies Can Obtain a High-Tech Status (HTS) and the Relevant Dedicated Financial Funding

 

Shenzhen, May 20th, 2010, The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China together with the strong support of Shenzhen Science, Industry, Trade and Information Technology Commission (SITIC), the Hi-tech Industry Association and the Shenzhen International Science and Technology Business Platform (STB) presented a seminar on Shenzhen Government Subsidies Suitable for Foreign Invested Enterprises. The event gathered more than eighty selected European enterprises representing one of the Shenzhen pillar industries – the hi-tech and electronics.  Tailored for these industries, the seminar served one of the main needs of the foreign invested enterprises and their specific interest on the local government subsidies and turned to be positively welcomed and appreciated by the hi-tech foreign community in Shenzhen.

The event was opened by the Chair of the European Chamber in PRD - Mr. Alberto Vettoretti and honored by the Director of Invest Shenzhen Division, Mr. Wang, who introduced the new structure of the SITIC.

Key speakers at the seminar were Ms. Liu Yiping (刘一平), the Deputy Director of Invest Shenzhen and Ms. Dai Jing, Promotion specialist at Invest Shenzhen. The topic of the seminar focused on the hi-tech foreign companies with R&D headquarters in Shenzhen which can apply and obtain the hi-tech status and favor the relevant incentives and funding on R&D projects.  

Representatives from seven divisions under SITIC, such as Invest Shenzhen (投资推广处), Science & Technology Innovation Support Division (科技创新支撑处), Technology Upgrade Development Division (技术改造发展处), Hi-tech Industrialization Division (高新技术产业化处) and others as well as the Hi-tech Industry Association highly supported the seminar and were available to reply to questions from the audience.

The event was hosted by the Shenzhen International Science and Technology Business Platform (STB) which helped for the overall nice atmosphere at the event. The seminar continued into a lively business networking evening served by the Westin Hotel Shenzhen staff.

The joint EUCCC & SITIC seminar provided a platform for communication between the European companies and the local government to inform on hi-tech policies applicable for hi-tech foreign enterprises to promote the hi-tech industry development in Shenzhen.
