Speaker Bio:
Originally from the UK, Mr. Macdonald graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in history. He started his educational career as a humanities teacher at an international school in Shanghai where, in 2016, he also set up and ran their first UCC department alongside teaching IGCSE and A-Level History. During that time he supported students to places in universities all over the world.
Mr. Macdonald joined Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong in 2021, impressed by how strongly the school's 'best fit' approach to university counselling resonated with his own values.
A key part of Mr. Macdonald's job is keeping up to speed with the latest developments in the higher education world, liaising with university admissions counsellors and attending information sessions on a weekly basis in order to do so.
In addition, Mr. Macdonald is a regular attendee at EARCOS-CIS (East Asia Regional Council of Schools – Council of International Schools) institutes on international admission and guidance, as well as member of International ACAC, the world's leading organisation for professionals engaged in international college counselling and admissions.
