We would love to hear your feedback, and it just takes a minute.
Manufacturing in China, which is strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, has largely recovered, but now shutdowns in the rest of the world are threatening the supply of key parts and demand. Guangdong, a province who’s three decades of development is considered nothing short of an economic miracle, has taken full advantage of globalization’s many opportunities and therefore inevitably branded itself as the 'world factory'.
What impact did the COVID-19 have on Guangdong's manufacturing industry? What measures have Guangdong's manufacturing companies taken to respond to the epidemic? In the face of an uncertain international environment, with the uncertain international environment brought about by the pandemic, how should Guangdong's manufacturing industry implement long-term strategies when considering factors like diversified manufacturing, relocation, and cost-saving? Will the 'world factory' still be able to maintain its advantage in comparison to other countries and regions?
The European Chamber is delighted to host industry experts, with perspectives ranging from government policy and production analysis to logistics and human resources, to discuss the current status and future of manufacturing in Guangdong.
