European Chamber Welcomes State Council progress on encouraging foreign direct investment, looks forward to prompt and fair implementation

Beijing, 27th August 2010 - The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China welcomes the recent release by the State Council of ‘Implementation of Allocation of Responsibilities of Ministries for Further Utilization of Foreign Investment’. The new announcement marks progress in the State Council’s work to encourage inbound Foreign Direct Investment. The twenty measures contained in the regulation have the potential to improve the investment environment in China by increasing the transparency, predictability and fairness of the framework guiding foreign investment. The Chamber looks forward to the prompt, systematic and transparent implementation of the measures by relevant government bodies listed in the opinion.
