The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China calls upon its members to make donations for Sichuan earthquake victims

Beijing, 14th May 2008. The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China sent out an email to all its members today, calling for donations for the Sichuan earthquake victims.
A major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale struck Sichuan Province on the afternoon of 12th May 2008, and affected many areas of Sichuan and neighbouring provinces. Members and staff of the European Chamber are deeply saddened by the loss of life, injuries and damage suffered in the affected parts of China. The disaster particularly shocked the Chamber members and staff in Chengdu, though the Chamber understands that they are all safe.
The European Chamber recommended to its members the China Red Cross as an effective channel for donations in support of victims and disaster relief.

中国欧盟商会呼吁会员积极捐助四川地震救灾行动

北京，2008年5月14日。中国欧盟商会今日发邮件给商会所有企业及个人会员，呼吁他们积极捐助四川地震救灾。

本月12日下午，四川省遭遇了理氏7.8级的强烈地震，灾难波及四川许多地区及周边省市。中国欧盟商会的会员及工作人员对灾区人民所承受的生命财产损失深感哀痛。商会成都分会的会员及工作人员对此尤为震惊，但据商会了解，他们目前都安然无恙。

中国欧盟商会籍此建议广大会员响应中国红十字会的募捐倡议，有力支援救灾行动的开展。
