The European Chamber cordially invites you to the next Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group meeting, which will feature a presentation on EU-China Cooperation in Food Safety by Ms. Gudrun Gallhoff, Minister Counsellor for Health and Food Safety at the Delegation of the European Union to China.



On November 6th, the European Union Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Mr. Vytenis Andriukaitis, has participated in the China International Food Safety and Quality Conference held in Shanghai, where he gave an opening speech on EU-China enhanced cooperation in the food safety field. For both the European Union and China, food safety and cooperation in this area is a preoccupation of critical importance, as safety, traceability, regulatory and fraud issues in the food industry have the potential to hamper trade between the two partners.

E-commerce is playing an increasingly significant role in both domestic and cross-border trade, with China – accounting for 42% of the global e-commerce market – on the forefront of this trend. The EU SME Centre and the European Union Chamber of Commerce are pleased to welcome you to join our Inter-Chamber SME Working Group, SME Forum, Legal and Competition, Intellectual Property Rights joint Working Group Meeting. In this meeting, Mr. Michael Tan from Taylor Wessing and Mr. Kyle Freeman from Dezan Shira will discuss the implications of the newly issued E-Commerce Law, as well as the opportunities European businesses and more concretely SMEs can find by embracing an e-commerce model in China.
