Recent Epidemic Prevention and Control Requirements

1. Hotel will not receive visitors who had traveled to medium-to-high risk areas or had contact with confirmed cases in the past 14 days. Will not receive visitors who have a “Yellow Code” or “Red Code” and “star*” in travel code. Will not receive visitors who haven't got vaccinated.
2. Hotel will not receive visitors with symptoms of the COVID (for instance, fever, cough, sore throat, and difficulty in breathing).
3. Participant must fill in a reporting form as attached and provide it to the Chamber by 13th April, 2022.
4. A negative nucleic acid test result within 24 hours is required. Must send the photo or screenshot of the result to the Chamber 24 hours before the event.
5. Participants are required to wear masks upon arrival and show their health code and travel code, have a temperature check, and register their information.
6. Please refer to the official epidemic prevention and control policy of Chengdu for the latest requirements. You can refer to official WeChat of "四川疾控" and other official information.

2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM): Southwest China Position Paper 2021/2022 (Local Position Paper: LPP) Launch of Southwest China Chapter, European Union Chamber of Commerce in China will be held in Chengdu on 20th April (Wednesday), 2022. The Annual General Meeting began from 2000 and it is one of the most important events of European Chamber every year.

Jörg Wuttke, president of the European Chamber, will share the key message for 2022. Massimo Bagnasco, vice president of the European Chamber and chair of the Southwest China Chapter, will review the chapter’s work in 2021, and its economic prospects and work arrangements for 2022.

The European Chamber Southwest China Chapter will also launch the Southwest Position Paper 2021/2022 at the AGM. In recent years, the Chinese Government has announced several plans aimed at developing the Southwest China region, with the cities of Chengdu and Chongqing designated as key players. These plans include making the two cities and their hinterlands China’s fourth city cluster and setting up logistics hubs for the Belt and Road Initiative. The report outlines how European businesses can contribute to the region, and the difficulties they encounter when trying to do so.

There will be a social cocktail party after formal meeting as well.

Jörg Wuttke is Chief Representative of BASF China, based in Beijing.
Jörg Wuttke was President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China from 2007 to 2010, 2014 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2023. From 2001 to 2004 Mr. Wuttke was the Chairman of the German Chamber of Commerce in China.
Since its establishment in 2013, Mr. Wuttke is member of the Advisory Board of Germany’s foremost Think Tank on China, Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS), in Berlin. He lived in China for more than 30 years.

Mr. Bagnasco has been actively involved in the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) since his arrival in China. Since 2008, he has alternatively covered positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of Construction Working Group. He has been also focusing on EU SME sector. In 2013, he was elected as Italian State Representative in the Supervisory Board of the EUCCC. Since 2014 till now, he became Member of the Chamber Executive Committee. Since 2017, he serves as Vice President. In 2021 he became also Chairman of Southwest China.
He has been involved in the preparation, implementation and development activities of EU-China Sustainable Urbanization Partnership. Mr. Bagnasco was also one of the four European experts, members of the Taskforce in charge EU-China Innovation Cooperation Dialogue framework agreement promoted by DG-RTD and MoST.
In 2016 he received the Knighthood of the Order of the Star by appointment of President of the Italian Republic to have acquired special credits and in the promotion of friendship cooperation of Italy with China.
Massimo Bagnasco is the CEO of China Europe Carbon Neutral Technology, a consulting firm which provide holistic solutions to the decarbonization target by the contribution of international academic experts and leading technology companies.
In 2004, he joined Progetto CMR, the only Italian integrated design firm ranked in the top 100 worldwide. The same year he moved to China setting up the local company (Progetto CMR Beijing) with offices in Beijing and Tianjin. He operated as Managing Director and was involved in several projects in China, including master plans, hotels, mixed use complexes, retail and sports venues. In 2009 he became a shareholder partner.
From 2017 to 2022, he is appointed as the visiting professor of School of Architecture and Design at Beijing Jiaotong University.
In 2019, he was appointed as member of advisory committee of International Centre for Creativity and Sustainable Development under the auspices of UNESCO (Category 2).
In 2021 he was appointed by the Politecnico of Turin University as China Centre advisory board member.
In 2023 he was nominated “Professional Affiliate" at IdM Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa
Mr. Bagnasco got a Master degree in Urban Planning and a bachelor degree in Architecture at University of Genoa.
