On June 27, 2025, the Chinese legislature passed the third amendment to the Anti-Unfair Competition Law, which will come into force on October 15th. The new law will come into force on October 15, 2025. The amendment adds eight new articles to address new types of unfair competition in the digital economy, including the platform economy, data rights, and “involutional” competition, with the aim of building a fair market environment.
