dōTERRA at the United Nations: Sharing Its CIIE Journey

On the morning of June 25 (Swiss time), the China International Import Expo (CIIE), in collaboration with the United Nations, held a thematic event in Geneva, Switzerland, titled “Joining Hands to Advance the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development—CIIE in Action.” As a consistent participant in the CIIE, dōTERRA was invited to deliver a keynote speech as a representative exhibitor.

Owen Messick, president of dōTERRA China, shared dōTERRA’s CIIE with the attendees. He remarked that dōTERRA’s participation in the CIIE not only reflects the development of a single enterprise but also serves as a vivid illustration of how openness and cooperation lead to mutual benefit amid the tide of globalization. He described the CIIE as a “magnet”—not only attracting the flow of orders but also enabling global companies to access the vast consumer market of 1.4 billion people and to witness how “China’s demand” is shaping “global trends.”

The event was chaired by Shen Jian, Deputy Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Ambassador Chen Xu and Wu Zhengping, Deputy Director-General of the China International Import Expo Bureau, also delivered speeches.

The event highlighted China’s efforts in expanding imports, particularly from developing countries, with the aim of promoting economic growth, eradicating poverty, accelerating digital and green transitions, and injecting new momentum into the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
