In the morning of September 6th, the groundbreaking ceremony of the FLENDER production line upgrade Phase IX capital increase and expansion project opening ceremony was grandly held at the FLENDER Tianjin Factory, which is the century-old German mechanical and electrical drive system another milestone in the localization of the old store FLENDER in China, it demonstrates FLENDER's determination and confidence to take root in China. Guests from German Embassy in China, Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Tianjin Foreign Affairs Office, Tianjin Municipal Commerce Bureau, Beichen District Party Committee and Beichen Government, German Chamber of Commerce in China, and European Union Chamber of Commerce in China attended the ceremony.
The E3 workshops to be constructed almost 16,000 square meters. It mainly produces world's top brand wind turbine drive train - Winergy wind turbine gearboxes, generators and HybridDrive systems, that covers wind turbine drive train main shaft assembly lines, gearsbox assembly lines, generator assembly lines, wind turbine drive train assembly lines, and high-power wind turbine drive train test bench. It is reported that after the completion of the E3 workshop, FLENDER Tianjin plant will have the world's leading and most lean HybridDrive system assembly and testing line, which can deliver more than 1,000 untis of HybridDrive systems to customers every year and the testing capability will be greatly improved, and it will respond more quickly to the needs of Chinese customers. The E3 plant project is scheduled to be completed and put into use at the end of November 2022.
Dr. Gou Jianhui, Chairman of FLENDER China, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He mentioned: “As the important part of FLENDER global production base, the world-class wind-turbine drive train system product will be produced in E3 workshop supplying the domestic and international customers. This gives strong support to the development of new energy in China and worldwide, and will also make great contribution to the economical and social development and labor employment to Tianjin, especially for Beichen District.”
The leaders of Beichen government welcomed and congratulated FLENDER for its further expansion of investment in China, and pointed out that the capital increase and expansion of FLENDER will build the world's leading and most lean semi-direct drive train. Product assembly and testing production lines, which will definitely promote the transformation of Beichen District's industry to high-end, drive more high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises to accelerate the gathering, and further promote the transformation from "Beichen Manufacturing" to "Beichen Creation", and from "large industrial area" to "strong industrial area”.
The construction of this new plant demonstrates FLENDER's confidence in China's development and the importance of the Chinese market.
