After the opening of offices in London and New York, Legance carries on its internationalization strategy opening its China Desk, led by Gabriele Capecchi, a Corporate Finance Partner with 25 years of experience in cross-border M&A transactions, and managed by Luca Chiang, a Corporate Finance lawyer, with Chinese background, who is fully fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Italian and English.
The main goal of Legance China Desk is to support the international growth of its clients and to help Chinese investors to seize the opportunities offered by the Italian market. In particular, Legance, through its China Desk (i) provides legal advice to Chinese clients on their business investments and developments in Italy or in Europe; (ii) supports Italian entrepreneurs having operations in the territory of Peoples’ Republic of China by addressing any concerns they may have regarding legal issues; and (iii) help its Italian and Chinese clients to overcome cultural and language differences, allowing them to focus on their business plans.
Gabriele Capecchi deals with M&A transactions and is the Head of our Real Estate Department. He practices in corporate finance and has also developed sophisticated expertise in real estate, assisting primary investors in any kind of real estate project. In 2017, Gabriele was awarded “Real Estate Lawyer of the Year” at the TopLegal Industry Awards. He is regularly mentioned in Chambers & Partners as a leading lawyer in his field: “a dynamic, all-round real estate lawyer” (2018), “Business-oriented, both friendly and competent” (2017), “he is known for his work on the financing side of significant real estate deals” (2016), “he is a great professional” and “a fantastic lawyer” (2015).
Luca Chiang, after graduating in Rome, at Luiss Guido Carli on 2008, obtained his Ph.D degree in Beijing, at China University of Political Science and Law and focuses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial agreements and Italian corporate governance matters. In particular, his activity and experience are focused on China-related M&A transaction in Italy.
