Energy Working Group Supports the 2022 World Young Hydrogen Scientist Forum
China Hydrogen Alliance held the 2022 World Young Hydrogen Scientist Forum in Wenzhou, Zhejiang on Monday 14th November. With support from the European Chamber Energy Working Group, experts, academicians and outstanding young scientists from industry, universities and research institutes have gathered to discuss the key technological innovations of the industry and the development trend of hydrogen energy at home and abroad.

The European Chamber Tianjin Chapter organised its 2nd Carbon Neutrality Conference: The Role of European Business in China's Race to 2060 along with Green Partnership of Industrial Parks at Shangri-La Hotel Tianjin on Wednesday, 2nd November 2022. This event is also in memory of Guido Giacconi, former Vice President of the European Chamber, and a former passionate leader of the Chamber’s Energy Working Group, who visited Tianjin several times and supported this conference as the keynote speaker last year. Mickael Naouri, Vice Chair of the European Chamber Energy Working Group made a presentation on the work of the energy working group and moderated the panel discussion.

On 16th February, the European Chamber Finance and Taxation Working Group held a working group meeting to share insight on the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and China’s footstep in the carbon-related tax policies.
Paolo Caridi, Policy Coordinator of DG CLIMA of the European Commission, introduced the EU’s CBAM, and Cong Zhang, Partner of Ernst & Young, provided the perspective from China side taking stock of the current tax policies in the country and sharing insight on the relevant framework discussions.
Comments on SAT's Draft of Implementing Regulations of the Law on Environmental Protection Tax
On 26 June, 2017, the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the State Administration of Taxation (SAT) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) jointly published the Implementing Regulations of the Law on Environmental Protection Tax (Draft for Comments) for public consultation.

On 20th March, the 2017 EU-China Forum on Sustainable Urban Development was launched at Putian, Fujian Province. This forum was hosted by the China Centre for Urban Development (CCUD) under the guidance of China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). With the support from the Delegation of European Union to China (EUD), the Forum had the European Chamber, EUROCITIES, Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) Urban Europe as co-organisers and Putian People’s Government of Fujian Province as the implementer. The theme was Cooperation, Innovation and Practice.

Representatives from several state-owned enterprises, the Georgia-China Friendship Association, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China(MOHURD), the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) and the Chamber discussed several topics and shared experience under the framework of the belt and road Initiative.
