The "2023 Medical Device Economic Information Conference," hosted by the Southern Medical and Pharmaceutical Economic Research Institute of the National Medical Products Administration, focused on the theme of "Building a Strong Nation through Intelligent Manufacturing, Focusing on 'Devices' and 'Equipment,' Uniting for a Healthy Future."

COCIR China representative Jessica Yuan, along with the COCIR China vice-chair and other members, participated in two exclusive closed-door meetings.

Closed-Door Meeting 2, held on 25 October 2023, delved into challenges faced by medical enterprises, including market approval and adoption issues. Discussions also revolved around optimizing policies for utilizing the Hong Kong-Macao medical communication platform in the Greater Bay Area and enhancing centralized procurement processes for medical devices and high-value consumables. Various solutions and suggestions were explored to address these challenges and streamline industry practices.

During these discussions, COCIR China deputy chair, Joyce Wang, highlighted the importance of encouraging communication and cooperation with the relevant departments of Joint Reformation for Public Health Services, Medical Insurance, and Medical Production-Circulation (JRPMM) (三医联动) specifically regarding medical device naming and classification topics.
