The European Union Chamber of Commerce South China Chapter is delighted to invite you to the launch event of its European Business in China Position Paper 2024/2025 (Position Paper 2024/2025), on 17th October 2024. This publication is the culmination of six months dedicated work by our 50 working groups, sub-working groups, desks and for a, compiling a comprehensive summary of the challenges faced by European companies operating in China. It also provides more than 1,000 constructive recommendations to the Chinese government on how to they can be resolved. In short, it provides a blueprint for rebuilding business confidence in the Chinese market and restoring it as the preferred destination for global investment. The European Chamber, the IP SME Helpdesk and the EU SME Centre are therefore pleased to invite you to our next Working Group meeting, Intellectual Property Protection in a Brave New Digital World: A Primer for SMEs, which will take place on 17th October from 15:00-17:00 offline in Beijing and online. During this training, Ms Lisa Lu, China IP SME Helpdesk IP Business Advisor, will discuss the importance of IP protection in the software industry and will cover the different types of IP used to protect software, including but not limited to copyright, patents and trade secrets. Mr Charles Feng, Director of the International Business Department and a Senior Partner of Tahota (Beijing) Law Firm will cover data privacy and IP, and Mr Phillip Neumann, Business Development Manager at AppinChina, will provide practical information on relevant processes and best practices for companies in areas such as software licensing.
