CFDA Reduces Animal Testing for Cosmetics Go back »

2013-11-13 | All chapters

Starting from June 2014 certain categories of cosmetics made in China will be exempted from animal tests on the condition that the producer has the capability to perform valid safety assessment. This does not apply to other categories so called special-use cosmetics or all imported cosmetics.

The Chamber welcomes the breakthrough of CFDA in the efforts to reduce the number of animal used in cosmetic tests and simplify the administrative process before market launch. We will be continuously supportive to further actions on the development of animal alternative methods.
