While a facing a year in of challenges the Nanjing municipal government has released information on a range of ambitious projects that are planned. When looking back on 2009, we hope that the financial crisis and other factors will not have stopped these ambitions targets from being reached.

PROJECT 1
Project Nature: Railway Construction
Cost: 4.15 billion yuan.
Details: Work will be carried out on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, Nanjing South Station, Da Sheng guan Railway Bridge, Shanghai-Nanjing / Nanjing-Hangzhou rail links and Ning'an inter-city railway construction project.
PROJECT 2
Project Nature: Metro Construction
Cost: 4.55 billion yuan.
Details: Work in 2009 will mainly be carried out on Metro Line 1’s Southern extension and on the Line 2 extension (Xianlin University City part)
PROJECT 3
Project Nature: Airport Construction:
Cost: 2 billion yuan.
Details: Focus of work will be on the expansion of Lukou Airport, the demolition of Honghua airport area and the new airport in Luhe.
PROJECT 4
Project Nature: Port construction
Cost: 1 billion yuan.
Details: Including Longtan Port phrase 4, 5, 2, Xibei Port phrase 2 and Xin Sheng wei liquid chemicals terminal.
PROJECT 5
Project Nature: City Ring Expressway (including the Yangtze River Bridge):
Cost: about 1.8 billion.
Details: Southeast part of City Ring Expressway and No. 4 Yangtze River Bridge.
PROJECT 6
Project Nature: Cross river tunnel:
Cost: 200 million yuan investment.
Details: Including a total distance of about 7.5 kilometers of the cross river tunnel.
PROJECT 7
Project Nature: Hexi CBD phase 2
Cost: 2 billion yuan investment.
Details: Including the Hong Kong Sun Hung Kai, the United States Houghton, Jiangsu Mobile and other famous enterprises at home and abroad project started in the second phase construction of the International Conference Center.
PROJECT 8
Project Nature: Old and dangerous building reform and affordable housing construction:
Cost: 2 billion yuan investment
Details: for the construction of affordable housing, low-cost housing reserves and Old and dangerous building transformation.
PROJECT 9
Project Nature: Rural and urban water environment improvement:
Cost: 2 billion.
Details: Including rural and urban sewage treatment plants, drinking water source protection.

Project Nature: Environmental improvement along the river:
Cost: 1.8 billion,
Details: Including riverside avenue landscape, building integrated development
PROJECT 11
Project Nature: Police office of Qing Dynasty protection and the construction:
Cost: 1 billion Yuan
Details: Including the completion of the third/fourth phase and Chengnan culture characteristic historical block.
PROJECT 12
Project Nature: Jinling Da Bao En Temple restoration:
Cost: 400 million yuan investment.
Details: Including Temple restoration, construction of site park.
PROJECT 13
Project Nature: Yihe Road Kungkuan protection and construction:
Cost: 200 million,
Details: Transformation the way the protection of the Eleventh District, public environment and infrastructure.
PROJECT 14
Project Nature: West Jiangkou (Green Bay) national wetland park building:
Cost: 2 million yuan
Details: covering an area of about 15 square kilometers, 2009 will see the start the construction in this national wetland park.
