The European Chamber Shanghai Chapter is proud to host the 9th annual Sustainable Business Awards (SBA). The 2025 edition marks a significant milestone, celebrating both the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the European Union as well as the 25th anniversary of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. Applications are open from 14th July to 14th September 2025 (6 pm). The points will be deducted for late submissions.

What are the Sustainable Business Awards?
Since its establishment in 2017, the European Chamber SBA has been continuously improving, growing, and promoting awareness of sustainability in business. In collaboration with our knowledge partner, SynTao, the objective of the European Chamber SBA is to:
- highlight innovative leadership achievements,
- advance sustainability awareness, and
- promote responsible business models.
What are 2025 awards categories?
There are 11 award categories in this year’s SBA:
Each category will require the submission of a detailed strategy and policy; a description of stakeholder engagement; an outline of practices and measures taken; the organisational structure; as well as other factors implemented by the company or organisation.
Why should you apply?
- Demonstrate your company’s leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Promote your brands at the awards ceremony on 11th December 2025. This year’s ceremony will feature the 9th anniversary of these awards and will be a significant Chamber event in Shanghai. Hundreds of attendees will witness this critical moment with you.
- Winners’ companies or organisations will be invited to public seminars and conferences to share their cases.
What do you need to know?
Members of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China are eligible to apply for free. For non-members, a one-time application fee of 2,500 RMB applies, regardless of the number of awards being applied for. There will be separate awards for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for each category. Please keep in mind that applications close on 14th September 2025 (6 pm). The points for late submissions will be deducted.
Once you have completed your application form(s), please email it to sba_submission@europeanchamber.com.cn, naming the email subject as: SBA Application_[Award Category]_[Your Company Name].
A notification will be sent via email to proceed with the payment if needed. Please note that an application is considered eligible for evaluation and is considered fully submitted only after the application fee has been paid. The deadline for the European Chamber to receive the payment is 14th September 2025, COB (6 pm Beijing time).

How will winners be celebrated?
On 11th December 2025, the European Chamber will host a ceremony in Shanghai to award the winners of this year's edition. This event will celebrate the 9th anniversary of these awards with the presence of members, partners, representatives from EU Member States Consulates, and media.
