With growing income, Chinese consumers have been demanding higher standards with regard to safety, health and quality of life. However, there is increasing concern regarding food and drug safety, especially with fresh produce e-commerce taking off. Cold chain logistics form the foundation of supply for perishable products and medical products, which have strict temperature, humidity and other environmental requirements.
Although the market is growing rapidly, the fragmented ownership of each stage of the cold chain remains a problem and may compromise the safety of the products operated in it. Recently, the world-renowned L.E.K. Consulting issued a report analyzing this interesting market. The Logistics Working Group is delighted to invite Dr. Teng Yong, Principal of L.E.K. Consulting, to present their findings on the opportunities along each stage of the fragmented but promising cold chain market.
In the meeting, Mr. Tony Chen, Logistics Working Group Chair, will also update about Chamber's recent lobby actions with European Union agencies and General Administration of Customs, as well as the lobby plan in the near future. Your inputs and comments are highly recommended and appreciated.
