Established in 2005, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Forum now comprises more than 200 member companies covering a wide range of different business units including marketing and communications, branding, public relations, community relations, corporate governance and compliance, human resources, environment, health and safety.
Acting as an interactive platform, the CSR Forum is aimed at enhancing the visibility of CSR while disseminating to China best practices established by European companies and emphasizing the importance of a strategic approach to CSR. Meanwhile, the Forum encourages the CSR communication, collaboration and co-innovation between its members and Chinese government agencies, professional organizations, local business partners and NGOs, as well as exponents of Chinese society as a whole.
In celebration of the establishment of the European Chamber CSR Forum, the European Chamber of Commerce China will host the Annual CSR Conference with the theme “Innovation, Trust and Sustainability.”
At this year’s conference, you will have chance to obtain the first-hand CSR insights, views and forecasts on macro-CSR development and hot topics from the influential CSR experts, MNC executives, NGO leaders and academic key opinion leaders, We will discuss about how multinational companies could align their CSR priorities and focus with the fast urbanization development in China? What are the local stakeholders changing expectation towards MNCs CSR performance? How MNCs could join as the contributing forces to realizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in China?
The European Chamber CSR 10th anniversary conference will trace back European Chamber and its working partners’ efforts in this field along it 10 year CSR journey, as well as the insightful sharing about the trend and future through keynote speeches, presentations and three thematic panel sessions on:

Mr. Jörg Wuttke

Mr. Jörg Wuttke
Jörg Wuttke is Vice President and Chief Representative of BASF China, based in Beijing. Since joining BASF in 1997, Mr. Wuttke has been responsible for helping guide the company’s investment strategies for China, negotiation of large projects and government relations. (BASF Greater China’s sales in 2014 were €5.5 billion)
Previous to joining BASF, Mr. Wuttke worked with ABB for 11 years; in fact his first professional encounter with China was in 1988 as the Finance and Administration Manager of ABB Beijing. In 1990, he returned to Germany as Sales Manager of ABB Power Plants Division, responsible for gas turbine sales to Africa and Russia. In 1993, he became Chief Representative ABB China in Shanghai and in 1994 moved to the President's Office of ABB China in Beijing, where he was responsible for the development and financing of large projects.
From 2001 to 2004 Mr. Wuttke was the Chairman of the German Chamber of Commerce in China. From 2007 to 2010, and again since April 2014 he is the President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.
In January 2011 the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC), a Paris based body of major business associations that lobbies the OECD, named Mr. Wuttke to become Chairman of the BIAC China Task Force.
Since its establishment in 2013, Mr. Wuttke is member of the Advisory Board of Germany’s foremost Think Tank on China, Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS), in Berlin.
Since July 2013, Mr. Wuttke is Vice Chairman of the CPCIF International Cooperation Committee, a group representing Multinational Companies in China’s Chemical Association.
Mr. Wuttke is a Rotarian and a member of the European Bahai Business Foundation.
Mr. Wuttke holds a BA in Business Administration and Economics from Mannheim and studied Chinese in Shanghai 1982 and Taipei 1984-85. A frequent speaker on business and industry issues in China, he co-authored:
“The Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry in China” by Springer Publishing Trust in 2005;
“Energy Resources Security” by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in 2006;
“The Handbook of Chinese Organizational Behavior: Integrating Theory, Research, and Practice” By Edgar Elgar Publishing in May 2012.
In 2008, he is featured in the book “My 30 years in China” as one of 13 prominent expatriates in China.
Mr. Xin Shen

Mr. Xin Shen
Mr. Shen Xin has been working for the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) since 1993. He had successively served Deputy Director of U.S. Division, Deputy Director of Division of Canadian & Oceanic Affairs and Director of U.S. Division in the Department of American and Oceanic Affairs. He also worked as Second Secretary and then First Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC from 2006 to 2009. During this period, he initiated and organized several programs on local government exchanges between China and the United States.
In 2011, he was promoted to Deputy Director General of Department of Cultural Exchanges. Working with the Asia Society, he successfully organized the first China-US Forum on Culture and Arts.
In 2012, he was appointed as Secretary General of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, a national public foundation ranking 4A in China. He launched new projects sponsored by foreign tans-national companies and improved the operational mechanism of the Foundation. The Foundation was named as the most transparent foundation with other 13 foundations out of several thousand Chinese foundations.
In May 2015, he returned to CPAFFC and started his new job as the acting director general of the Department of European & Central Asian Affairs.
Mr. Shen graduated from Beijing Normal University as B.A. in 1993. He got his M.B.A. in 2002 from the University of International Business and Economics. He also studied at the Brigham Young University - Hawaii as a visiting scholar from 1996 to 1997.
Mr. Wangqiu Song

Mr. Wangqiu Song
Mr. Song was born in 1968 in Changchun City, Jilin Province, China. From 1986 to 1987 he studied at Beijing Foreign Languages Institute (Now known as Beijing Foreign Studies University). He got his Master’s degree in Sociology from University of Helsinki, Finland in 1993 and has specialized in Statistics and minored in Finnish Language during the study. He received his MBA degree from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration in 1997.
Mr. Song joined Stora Enso since 1994. During the past twenty-one years, he worked in various positions including marketing analysis, sales management and business management. He has rich experience on company products, project operation as well as corporate management.
Mr. Song was commissioned in 2000 by headquarter in Finland to develop China market. He was assigned to be the Sales Director of Stora Enso Suzhou Paper, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development of Stora Enso Asia-Pacific and General Manager of Stora Enso China Sales.
Mr. Song was appointed as President of Stora Enso China in 2006.
Mrs. Jing Yang

Mrs. Jing Yang
As a publicity director of the Press Relationship Department, Information Office of Shanghai Municipality, Ms. Yang Jing started her media career from 2005. She is mainly responsible for providing oversees media with news service and the promotion of Shanghai Municipality. Apart from organizing and coordinating the big events like the Shanghai Paralympics Game, Beijing Olympics Game, Shanghai World Expo, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measure in Asia (CICA) and IBLAC, Ms.Yang is also working on the promotion of Shanghai’s image and the establishment of ‘big external publicity’ by activating the strength and potential from other government departments.
Mr. Murilo Bonilha

Mr. Murilo Bonilha
Murilo Bonilha is the General Manager for United Technologies Research Center (China) Ltd., a position he has held since May 2012. At UTRC, Dr. Bonilha leads the development of expertise and execution of global and Asia-focused research projects in integrated buildings, thermal systems, fluid dynamics, decision and control systems, and mechanical systems. In this role, he has full P&L responsibility over UTRC operations in China and is also responsible for university partnerships, external/government relationships, and UTC business unit interactions in Asia.
Bonilha joined United Technologies in 1996 as a research engineer at UTRC and has held several technical leadership positions both at UTRC and at Carrier Corporation. In these roles he developed and applied technology solutions in noise and vibration to a number of UTC products including helicopters, elevators, escalators, and HVAC systems. Bonilha also led the Modeling, Analysis, Simulation and Computation (MASC) initiative at Carrier. Prior to UTC, Bonilha held research positions at the University of Southampton (United Kingdom) and at Cepstrum Corporation (Brazil).
Bonilha has published 26 peer-reviewed technical articles, primarily in the fields of structural acoustics, active noise control, and platform architecting and holds one US Patent. He is a member of the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) China board and a member of the USA-China Clean Energy Research Center industrial advisory board.
Bonilha holds a PhD in Acoustics and Vibration from University of Southampton (United Kingdom). He also holds a M.S. degree in Systems Architecture and Engineering from University of Southern California, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil), and a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from University of São Paulo (Brazil).
Mr. Philippe Barreaud

Mr. Philippe Barreaud
Philippe is heading Michelin's initiative to create growth beyond its current core business in Asia. He is in charge of sourcing and incubating new innovative business models. Philippe has driven both Business and Information Systems organizations during his career at Michelin. His last two assignments have been Chief Enterprise Architect for the Michelin Group, based out of Michelin's HQ in France and then CIO for the Asia-Pacific region. Philippe lives in Shanghai, China.
Mr. Paul Mak

Mr. Paul Mak
As the President of Greater China of Mary Kay, Mr. Paul Mak takes overall responsibility for the management of the China Mainland,Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan area.
In his 18 years with the company, Paul has laid solid foundations for the growth and expansion of Mary Kay in China. Under his leadership, the China Region has become the largest market for Mary Kay and the sales volume in China has continually set new record, which has been increased by 100 times from 1999 to 2014.
As vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises and Shanghai Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises, a member of Shanghai’s CPPCC Jing’an District Committee, and chairman of the Jing’an District Foreign Investment Enterprises Association, Paul has committed himself to enhancing interaction and communication between the government and enterprises. In the mean time, Paul is one of the board members of Junior Achievement China, which is an educational NGO with global influence.
Dr. Alasdair Jelfs

Dr. Alasdair Jelfs
Dr. Jelfs joined Merck KGaA’s UK subsidiary as Marketing Manager for Liquid Crystals (LC) in 1986. In 1990, he was awarded an MBA and in 1991, moved to Merck's headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. During his time working for Merck in Europe, he travelled frequently to Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China, being responsible for technical and commercial aspects of Merck’s LC business in different Asian markets, particularly Hong Kong and China.
In 1995, Dr. Jelfs moved to Hong Kong and was responsible for the marketing and sales and technical support of Merck's LC division businesses in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Dr. Jelfs established Merck's subsidiary in Hong Kong before moving to Taiwan in 2004, where he held the position of Managing Director of the Liquid Crystal Business Unit and was responsible for building up Merck’s Liquid Crystal Center Taiwan (LCCT).
In 2008 Dr. Jelfs returned to Merck in Darmstadt as Senior Vice President for Liquid Crystals Research and Development, with worldwide responsibility for R&D in liquid crystal materials.
Since April 2010 Dr. Jelfs has been located in Shanghai, with responsibility for Merck’s chemicals subsidiaries in China. Since April 2012 he is in addition Head of Performance Materials in China and Country Speaker for Merck in China. During this period he has overseen consistent double digit growth taking China into the top 5 of countries for Merck by Sales of Performance Materials and Life Science. Major projects have included ERP implementations, integrations of 4 acquired companies, downsizing and divestment of activities and the establishment of liquid crystal manufacturing in China.
Mrs. Marina Wu

Mrs. Marina Wu
Marina Wu started to work on communication function of Unilever China in 1996, just after her graduation from Institute of International Relations with her bachelor degree.
Over 19 years working with Unilever, Marina Wu has got extensive experience in media relation, internal communication, corporate social responsibility, public affairs and sustainability. In 2006 she got her EMBA from Fudan University.
During 2007-2009, she worked as Global Issues Manager in London for two years to understand the different perspective of global issues. 2-year experience in London also provided her enough understanding in EU public affairs. Then she has been promoted as Director of Communications and Sustainability and till now.
Mr. Peiyuan Guo

Mr. Peiyuan Guo
Dr. Guo Peiyuan, holds a Ph.D. in Management from Tsinghua University. He is the General Manager of SynTao and Chairman of SynTao Green Finance. Dr. Guo Peiyuan continuously focuses on research and practices about corporate social responsibility (CSR) and socially responsible investment (SRI), with abundant experience on research, training and consulting services. Now SynTao has become a leading CSR consulting company in China with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Washington D.C. Dr. Guo Peiyuan has served for over one hundred companies, governments, and social organizations home and abroad, including China Mobile, China Pacific Insurance, Amway China, Volkswagen, International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), etc. He has served as a judge in multiple CSR awards. Now he also teaches MBA course Business Performance and Sustainability in School of Economics and Management , Tsinghua University, and teaches international student course Social Innovation and CSR in School of Social Development and Public Policy, Beijing Normal University
Mrs. Zheng Wu

Mrs. Zheng Wu
Editor-in-Chief of Shanghai Daily since October 2013, Wu Zheng joined the newspaper in 1999 as one of the founders when the preparations were made for the launch of the newspaper. She first worked as a business editor and became Deputy Editor-in-Chief in May 2003.
Before joining Shanghai Daily, Wu worked as a business reporter for China Daily.
She was a graduate of Journalism School, Fudan University. She was a fellow of the Parvin/Freedom Forum Journalism Studies Fellowship Program from 1998 to 1999 in East West Center, Hawaii, USA.
Wu was named a winner of “Shanghai Zou Taofeng Journalism Award,” the most prestigious award for newspaper editors, in 2004.
As a member of Shanghai Translators’ Association, Wu is an achieved translator and has published many translated books, including three books by Nobel Literature Prize winner V.S. Naipaul.
Dr. Xiaohui Liang

Dr. Xiaohui Liang
Dr. Liang used to be the program coordinator of the Human Rights Master Program at Peking University, China’s first professional human rights education project. In 2005, Dr. Liang joined the Office for Social Responsibility of China National Textile and Apparel Council as Chief Researcher, in charge of the development and promotion of CSC9000T, China’s first voluntary CSR initiative and social responsibility management system. Since 2008, Dr. Liang has been the lead expert in the development of other Chinese industry-specific CSR initiatives by business associations in China, and he has also involved in the development of several international CSR instrument initiated by international organizations including the UN and the OECD. Since 2006, Dr. Liang has taught the course “Business and Human Rights” at Peking University Law School and he is the first Chinese scholar teaching this course in China. Dr. Liang is now also a member of the Labour and Human Rights Working Group of the United Nations Global Compact, as well as a council member of World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council.
Mr. Zhihong Yu

Mr. Zhihong Yu
As a longtime researcher and promoter of CSR strategy and planning, management, assessment, report compilation, and communication and Social Responsibility Investment, he was invited as an expert and instructor to offer CSR training and consulting service by many large state-owned enterprises, multinational companies and government departments.
His publications include Guide to CSR, How to Write a CSR Report (China’s first monograph on CSR report), CSR Management Fundamentals (China’s first monograph on CSR management), and Responsible Competitiveness-CSR Best Practice Cases and CSR in China(CN-EN Bilingual Version). He translated and compiled The State of Responsible Competitiveness. His Chinese translations include CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY COALITIONS: THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF ALLIANCES FOR SUSTAINABILITY CAPITALISM, and Living Corporate Citizenships: Strategic Routes to Socially Responsible Business.
Mr. David Du

Mr. David Du
David Du is the General Counsel for Bosch in AP since January 2015. He leads 6 legal teams consisting of 42 lawyers to support the Bosch operation in AP. Prior to that, he was the General Counsel and Compliance Officer for Bosch in China. David has been assisting Bosch management to ensure compliance in its China operation which has 50,000 employees and 65 entities.
David is a Chinese lawyer and Certified Tax Practitioner. He is the Chair of the Compliance Working Group in the European Chamber of Commerce China since March 2018, and the vice-Chair from April 2015 to March 2018. David is also an arbitrator in the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC) since May 2016
Mr. Ye Yang

Mr. Ye Yang
Mr. Ye Yang joined the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation (SSCLF) in March 2013. He serves as Deputy Secretary-General and is in charge of strategy development, policy planning, external communication and advocacy. Mr. Yang also leads and facilitates the collaboration between multinationals and SSCLF on CSR and sustainable development agenda.
Mr. Yang had served as CSR and Government Relations Manager of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai for more than 7 years. Mr. Yang joined the Chamber in 2005 and led Chamber’s robust Corporate Social Responsibility program. Trough initiatives in community outreach, environmental stewardship, employee health & safety, corporate governance, public healthcare, NGO capacity building, and public private partnership, AmCham Shanghai CSR program has been growing to be an effective platform for different stakeholders to communicate and collaborate.
Mr. Yang works closely with the central and local government, Chinese think-tanks, NGOs and companies to smooth communication channels and cement the relations between government authorities and business community through strategic and institutional approach.
Mr. Yang has specialist expertise in the Information Technology sector. He served as project manager at BP, Jardine Matheson and Shanghai Clinic Medical Center. Mr. Yang holds Bachelor degree in Logistics from Shanghai Maritime University and Master Degree in Financial Management from Vlerick Business School, Belgium.
Dr. Lydia Price

Dr. Lydia Price
Lydia J. Price is Professor of Marketing at CEIBS. From 2006-2012 she was Associate Dean and Director of the CEIBS MBA Programme. Under her leadership the programme deepened its international focus and stature as well as its China expertise, rising steadily in major business school rankings as a consequence. In 2009 she implemented a major curriculum change that strengthened the programme’s commitment to Responsible Leadership and Sustainability, including an innovative mandatory course in which students complete sustainability field projects in the China context. Several of these student projects have earned global awards and accolades from the corporate and academic communities.
Professor Price is an award winning professor of marketing with more than 20 years’ experience teaching Chinese executives and MBA students. Her current teaching and research interests lie in the area of responsible leadership and marketing strategy. Prior to joining CEIBS, Professor Price was on the faculties of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and INSEAD, France. She also has been a visiting professor at New York University, Beijing University, and Catholic University of Lisbon, Portugal. Professor Price holds a PhD in Marketing from Columbia University, an MS in Marketing Research from University of Cincinnati, and a BS in Marketing from Miami University.
Mrs. Rongjie Zhang

Mrs. Rongjie Zhang
Mrs. Rongjie Zhang is the vice president of the Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, and the editor-in-chief of Foreign Investment In Shanghai.
She used to be the 5th and the 6th Secretary-General of Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, and worked hard to promote corporate social responsibilities among foreign enterprises.
In 2007, she headed the Shanghai Foreign-Funded Enterprises’ Corporate Social Responsibility Forum, which organized charitable donations towards victims of the 2008 earthquakes, launched the low-carbon campaigns in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, and created the Corporate Social Responsibility Report Conference.
Mrs. Zhang also edited two books “Better Together — Records of Shanghai Foreign Investment Development” and “We Are Responsible — CSR Best Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in Shanghai,” in which both books details the achievements made by nearly 100 foreign-invested enterprises in contributing to CSR in Shanghai
Ms. Li Ding

Ms. Li Ding
Ms. Li Ding is the Vice President of Non-Profit Incubator – one of the leading supporting organizations for NGOs and Social Enterprises in China since May, 2008. She is in charge of NPI Business Develop Department and outreach programs in Headquarter, in past 7 years she led the R&D for strategic initiatives for NPI such as Shanghai United Foundation, Shanghai Social Innovation Park, Social Entrepreneurs Institute, Community Resilience platform and Venture Philanthropy/ Social Impact Investment Fund etc. Together with team members she also successfully fund raising more than 50 million RMB from several international and domestic charity foundations and multi-national companies such as Ford Motor, HSBC, and SAP etc. Ms. Ding also established strategic partnerships among NPI and several famous international organizations such as UnLtd, CIVA, AVPN and GSEN.
Ms. Ding has more than 11 years of working experiences in multi-national companies and over 10 years in China’s emerging Third Sector. From 2009 to 2012, she is one of Chinese trainers for Social Entrepreneurship skills training program organized by British Council. Ms. Ding is the member of Committee of the Pudong New District People's Political Consultative Conference of Shanghai. She also serves as a member of the Global agenda council on Social Innovation established by World Economic Forum from 2013 - 2014.
From Apr 2005 to Apr 2008, she was working for Conservation International China Program as Business Partnerships Program Officer in charge of engaging top enterprises towards eco-friendly business operation and direct investment on conservation programs. Before that, Ms. Ding Li was working for Unilever China as Marketing Controller for 2 years; she also served as Senior Product Manager and Brand Manager for L’Oréal China and Danone Group.
Mr. Hui Zhang

Mr. Hui Zhang
Mr. Zhang Hui served as the CSR and sustainability leader in multiple Fortune 500 companies, leading the development and evolution of CSR strategies and driving signature campaigns across regional and international markets. Since 2014, Mr. Zhang has taken the CSR Forum Chair and Vice Chair role of European Union Chamber of Commerce Shanghai Chapter, fostering the cross-sector CSR and sustainability collaboration on the European Chamber CSR Forum platform. He also contributed his knowledge and experience by serving as the CSR Think Tank expert of China Federation of Industrial Economics, lecturer of Syntao Academy and universities, CSR advisor of UNAIDS, UNDP and ILO in China in the past years.
Mrs. Cindy Zhang

Mrs. Cindy Zhang
Since August in 2006, Cindy Zhang has been responsible for communications strategy and plans, including sustainability communications for Stora Enso in China. In addition, she also focuses on developing and maintaining partnership with target associations, chambers and NGOs from global to domestic in order to support branding in sustainability and bring benefits to target audience. Before that, Cindy takes different roles which ranges from sales to marketing from 1998 to 2006.
