The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to attend the Female Empowerment Chatroom and newly launched “Unleash Today” book presentation on Tuesday, 25th May, 2021, 15:30 to 17:00 hosted in the Chamber Beijing Office with the focused topics on Self-Confidence and Managing-Up. It’s our honor to invite two mentors Charlotte Roule and Michael Chang, one mentee Tong Wang from European Chamber Cross-industry Mentor Initiative (CIMI) and one guest speaker Sarah Wagner to share their views in this context.
Self-Confidence in the Workplace - We will discuss how to use and strengthen your confidence muscle, become resilient and overcome self-doubt in order to shine in the workplace. We will also share tips on how to turn negativity into positive energy and motivation to act and discuss tips to shield your self-esteem from other people’s judgements.
Dealing with difficult situations and learning to manage up - We will discuss how to navigate difficult situations and finding a healthy and productive way of dealing with them, while bringing out the best in yourself and others. We will also shed light on how to develop a mutually beneficial working relationship with your boss and the senior management team by understanding and effectively managing up.

Ms. Charlotte Roule
Ms. Charlotte Roule
Charlotte Roule is Overseas Representative in Paris of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Executive President of Storengy and President of the Gas Storage Europe association.
With over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, she was Chief Strategy Officer of the ENGIE group, in charge of strategic dialogue and competitive intelligence, coordination of the long-term vision and energy transition scenarios, and supervision of major investments. She was also CEO of Storengy UK and then CEO of ENGIE China, where she developed projects focused on clean energy (mainly solar) and clean solutions for cities and industries, such as district cooling and electric mobility. She served as VP of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China from 2018 to 2021.
Ms. Sarah Wagner
Ms. Sarah Wagner
Sarah Wagner is project manager at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, where she works on topics related to technical barriers to trade in the areas of digitalization, industry 4.0 and IT security. Before, she acted as Senior Policy Manager for international economic relations at DIGITALEUROPE, representing Europe’s biggest tech trade association towards the European institutions, WTO and OECD.
As ardent promoter of female empowerment, Sarah co-wrote the book Unleash Today, a handbook to help young women maximize their potential in the workplace.
Mr. Michael Chang
Mr. Michael Chang
Member of China Leadership team, EVP, Head of CX Strategy & Technology, Board Member of Nokia FUNO. He has over 22 years of managerial experience in multinational companies on ICT research & innovation, standardization, technology strategy and regulations and Pre-sales. After joining Nokia, he has assumed various managerial roles in research & standardization, strategy & regulations, Solution Pre-sales/Sales support. He currently looks after all major technologies frontline relevant to Nokia mission and thought leadership in Greater China, e.g. 5G/6G, oRAN/vRAN, critical network evolution, cloud & digital transformation, technology policies for cybersecurity and data security.
Supervisory Board Member of CCSA (China Communication Standard Association). National Chair of ICT working group, EU Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC). Michael served as Vice President and Board Member for EUCCC (2017-2019), where he played a leading role in China-EU high level dialogue on High-Tech & Digital policies and cross-industry exchanges. Michael was a member of the “EU-China Expert Group on Digital Economy & Cybersecurity” formed by China & EU government as top dialogue platform on digital policies coordination.
Ms. Tong Wang
Ms. Tong Wang
Wang Tong joined Siemens in 2008, managed consulting projects with various topics along the value chain, e.g. digital factory planning, production system setup, design to value, lean management, change management, executive coaching. Started from 2016, she acted as the Head of Strategy and Operation of consulting business, on this role, currently she is responsible for “Tsinghua-Siemens Digital Transformation Leadership Program” which targets on building industrial ecosystem. Before Siemens, she worked as Electric Engineer in Bombardier.
Wang Tong graduated from HARBIN Engineering University majored in electric automation with bachelor degree in 2003, and further developed with international MBA from Tsinghua University in 2008.
