The European Chamber Logistics Working Group invites you to our first working group meeting in 2020. The meeting comprehends the long-awaited Chairs elections and meeting with members session, a seminar on high-tech development and artificial intelligence in logistics in China by Mr Yuanpeng Li, Partner at McKinsey, and a small discussion on our working group's annual planning.

Discussion on COVID-19 and Lobbying Efforts

The European Chamber will update its members of planned and ongoing lobbying efforts for the logistics industry during the crisis of COVID-19, and members are able to share the challenges and opinions towards the Logistics Working Group, and advice BMs on further actions.

Chair’s Elections

The Logistics Working Group is pleased to invite our members to our annual national chair and vice-chair elections. 

If you have the intention of running for national chair or local chair, please contact Miss Yihan Zhao, at yhzhao@euccc.com.cn and submit your candidacy by Monday 24 February COB. Candidates shall be announced on Tuesday to all members.

Efficiency and rapidity are words that are imprinted in the minds of the people in the logistics world. To be able to transport and deliver fast is a key essence to the compete in this rapidly changing market that is China. The theme of artificial intelligence is no stranger in this country, digitalisation in logistics is essential for the faster processing, management and delivery of goods. The working group would like to bring you the latest developments in the logistics world through discussing on the following items:

• Latest development of AI and advanced analytics application in logistics sector
• Typical use cases of digital in logistics
• Implications to leading a company to make full use of digital technology

Yuanpeng Li joined McKinsey in 2008, and has served clients mainly in steel and logistics sectors. Yuanpeng focuses on supply chain management and manufacturing: Leading Chinese private steel makers in overall transformation, purchasing optimization in steel companies, digital advanced analytics in steel companies and digital performance management transformation. During his time in McKinsey &, Yuanpeng has touched upon multiple logistics topics, some being: overall logistics network optimization, large scale frontline courier men management to improve efficiency, Hub lean operations improvement, etc.

Prior to join McKinsey Yuanpeng worked at GE for 3 years as Sourcing Manager. Previously he was GE’s Operation/Lean Manufacturing Leadership Program talent. Yuanpeng received his Master’s Degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2005, majoring in Energy & Power Engineering. He is a GE certified 6-Sigma and CPIM professional
