The Auto Components Working Group was created in 2000. It consists of around 80 European and
foreign companies involved in the manufacturing of auto components, machine tools for producing
auto components and automotive assembly lines. They also import and distribute auto components
and provide after‐sales services in China. An Independent Automotive Aftermarket (IAM) Desk was
established in October 2014 by Auto Components Working Group members, to explore the
possibilities associated with applying a European Union (EU)‐type Motor Vehicle Block Exemption
Regulation (MVBER) in China to improve the accessibility of the automotive aftermarket for suppliers.
This also includes advocating for improving existing laws and regulations, such as the draft Access to
the Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Information Methods and the revision of the Auto Sales
Management Methods. This working group has fostered ties with various organisations and
governmental bodies in both Europe and China.
